  • Shi-Da Night Market

    Similar to other markets in Taipei, Shi-Da offers a wide selection of night market food, however, Shi-Da also has a large selection of cheap clothes from stylish boutiques, of which many are owned and operated by young entrepreneurs looking to establish themselves. Shopping here is a good way to support the local fashion community, as well as get a good deal on some new designs hard to find elsewhere.

  • Postal Museum

    In order to promote business development and enhance public understanding of the postal business, Chunghwa Post primarily founded the Postal Museum on December 1, 1965.  However it was located at Hsintien Shitou Road where is remote and not easily accessible. To fulfill its original intent as a form of social education, the Museum was relocated to the current location in 1984.
      
    The Postal Museum has quantitative and valuable collections and multiple display methods. Floors arranged will be classified as permanent exhibition areas between the 2nd floor to the 5th floor, in additional to exhibit stamps, postal history and cultural relics in static styles, others as play multimedia, visualization in reality, interaction games and role-playing facilities in dynamic methods are also equipped in these permanent exhibition areas. The 6th floor is classified for special exhibitions of philately or art.  The 7th floor is designed for library use, contained rich special postal articles, philatelic documents, and general archives, all can be circulation to general public.  At the lobby ground floor, the Service counter is provided for stamp enthusiasts who wants to buy exquisite philatelic products or for consulting only.  The Audiovisual Room located on the 2nd floor and the Seminar Room, Auditorium located on the 10th floor can be leased for general public applicants.

  • Shilin Night Market

    he Shilin Night Market in Taipei is one of the largest, most popular night markets in Taiwan with regard to food, and also one of the most popular points of Taipei's night life among visitors. Located in Taipei’s Shilin District, a mere 70 metres from MRT Jiantan Station between Dadong Rd, Danan Rd, Wenlin Rd, and Jihe Rd.     At the street's northern end is the original branch of the Din Tai Fung restaurant chain. Since this brand began in 1958, it has become a Taiwanese institution, known for its juicy, pork-filled steamed dumplings. It has even been named one of the world's top ten restaurants.

    A few steps from Din Tai Fung you'll find Yong Kang Beef Noodle, which has been serving customers since 1963. Apart from being famous for its delicious beef noodle soup, it also cooks up a steamed spareribs-with-rice-flour dish that has attracted attention from around the world.

    After tasting such savory dishes, you may want to treat yourself to some sweet, icy goodness. If that's the case, then go to Smoothie House. This store serves heaping plates of fruit-covered shaved ice that is perfect for capping off your dining experience. Otherwise, there are several cafes and bakeries in the alleys, where you can buy cute little cakes and pastries.
